PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The latest set of tariffs announced by President Donald Trump are creating ripples in the stock market and could soon be felt in your wallet.

The president said Thursday that he will put import taxes of 100% on pharmaceutical drugs, 50% on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, 30% on upholstered furniture and 25% on heavy trucks starting on Oct. 1.

The announcement comes as businesses have already been managing reciprocal tariffs, plus import taxes on steel, aluminum and copper.
