A Central Dauphin School District bus driver who transported children to school with a gun on her belt has been fired and charged with a crime, officials announced Friday.
The bus company, Krise Transportation, notified police at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday that one of their employees noticed another driver carrying the gun about an hour earlier. Officers responded to Central Dauphin Middle School at 4600 Locust Lane where they removed the gun without incident, according to school officials.
The weapon was in plain view Tuesday while the driver was stationed on school property to pick up students at the end of the day. District officials later determined the driver also completed a morning route with students on board while armed.
No students reported seeing the weapon.
