A family is asking for help finding the driver of a pickup truck who struck and killed a great-grandfather along Texas 183 near Benbrook earlier this month.

About two weeks ago, Walter Brown Sr. was showing his brother Robert around North Texas when they ran out of gas at about 1 a.m. while heading home.

“I said, ‘Man, don’t get out of the car.’ He said, ‘Man, the Good Lord got me,’” Robert recalled.

He said that was the last thing his brother said, before getting hit by a pickup truck and flung into the middle of the state highway.

“Didn’t stop, didn’t slow down,” Robert said of the driver.
