AROUND THE OZARKS, Mo. (KY3) - Blue Help has been curating a list of those officers who have died by suicide since 2016.

Since then, they have information on officers dating back to 1979 with records of more than 1,000 officers .

For departments, they work to ensure that officers have the necessary tools, resources, and support needed for their mental health.

“And how we are dealing with it, we are humans just like everybody else,” said Officer Sean Myers, a board member with the Springfield Police Officers Association.

Officers need time to decompress.

“The biggest part of the day is the debrief at the end, where we decompress and get to talk to people and we are talking to people like humans,” said Myers.
