INDIANAPOLIS — A former Indiana high school basketball star is opening up about mental health during the Circle City Classic weekend in Indianapolis.

Greg Oden, who starred at Lawrence North High School before attending Ohio State and becoming the first pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, spoke openly about his struggles with depression and alcohol use after injuries derailed his career.

This week, he shared his advice with young athletes as part of the "Cherish Your Mind" Mental Health Symposium inside Warren Central High School.

"Try to figure out who they are, try to enjoy life," Oden said. "Don't let playing video games, hanging out with your friends, your sport, define who you are. You're going to have much more in your life outside of that and just try to be a good person and be happy wit
