SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Law enforcement is on the lookout after three male juveniles escaped from a Mansfield-area state facility Friday afternoon.

According to Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the escape was reported shortly after 4 p.m. on Sept. 26. The facility notified deputies that the three juveniles had fled custody.

Shortly after, SCSO received a report of a stolen vehicle from a nearby residence. The vehicle was later found abandoned near the area, but the minors were not located.

SCSO has launched an active search in the surrounding area.

"Residents near the facility are encouraged to lock their homes, make sure their cars are secured and keys are not in the ignition," the department said in a news release. "If anyone sees the escapees or sees something
