CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A missing hiker is now safe after a search on September 20, according to Chaffee County Search and Rescue North (CCSARN).

Around 4:30 p.m., the rescue team said they received a page for a missing hiker on La Plata.

The team said that the missing hiker had separated from their group to make their way back down the trailhead.

They were reportedly last seen around noon, and with inclement weather forecasted, CCARN said ground teams were fielded.

CCARN said Chaffee County Search and Rescue South assisted with drone efforts, while REACH Air Medical Services was requested for a flyover of the area. They said REACH had accepted the request but had to later decline due to the weather.
