GRAND FORKS — It is an art project painted with controversy in Grand Forks, but on Friday, Sept. 26, the dispute was brushed away.
A mural on the side of a building at the North Dakota Vision Services School for the Blind has been completed after months of uncertainty.
“It’s a win for Vision Services, it’s a win for the community,” said painter Trey Everett.
Everett began the mural in the spring after being hired by the school to raise awareness of its services for people with vision problems. The work includes North Dakota themes such as the state bird and flower.
“I get to finish this after all, it’s such a nice feeling,” Everett said. “I just really like this dark outline, to me it just makes it pop.”
