WARWICK, Mass. (WWLP) - Two separate crashes occurred in Warwick on Friday morning, one involving a vehicle hitting a utility pole and another involving a fire engine leaving the roadway.
Warkwick Police Chief David Shoemaker told 22News that a vehicle on Route 78 left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. The driver was taken to the hospital is is expected to recover.
While en route to the crash, a Warwick fire truck left the roadway and crashed into an embankment. The firefighter was evaluated for injuries at the scene. Both vehicles were towed from the crash sites.
Chief Shoemaker said that members of the Warwick police, fire and highway departments, along with the Orange EMS, Northfield police and Verizon, assisted. The cause of the crashes is being investigated.
