Surge in confiscated animals pushes zoos to the brink leading to calls for new funding

Law enforcement officials are overwhelmed with the amount of animals being taken into custody, either because of animal smugglers or issues getting through the port of entry. Local zoos are already facing challenges and have complained they don't have the space to take the animals.
