OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Flu season is just around the corner, and Omaha families now have a new option: an at-home flu vaccine called FluMist.
Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration this year, the nasal spray is designed to make getting vaccinated easier, especially for busy parents and children.
Families can now be ordered FluMist online.
A healthcare professional reviews health information, and if approved, the vaccine is shipped to the home.
Individuals administer the dose themselves following the included instructions.
“The goal is to give people more options and easier access to vaccines,” said Molly Elston, a Douglas County Health Department official.
