SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — It was a frightening situation for a man who got trapped by floodwaters in his car in south Scottsdale Friday afternoon.
It happened near Miller Road and Roosevelt Street where a man was trapped in a blue Toyota Prius in the flooded Indian Bend Wash, according to the Scottsdale Fire Department.
Video captured by Arizona’s Family showed a group of rescuers who helped pull the man out of the water around 4:20 p.m.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the rescue.
It’s been a particularly dangerous travel day for the Valley as the region experiences flash flooding and periods of extremely heavy rain. Heavy traffic delays have been reported Valley-wide.
A flood watch is in effect for much of Valley and portions of Pinal and Gila counties until 11 p.m. on Friday.
