Move over 15-minute cities and meet the $15 city.

That’s what a group of citizens, called Build Toronto, want to charge people each time they drive into downtown Toronto.

Move over speed cameras – make way for toll-fee cameras?

The new climate and gridlock measures could effectively lock the doors to downtown and make commuters or visitors pay a toll to come into work, for fun or for business.

Whether you agree or disagree, they make the argument putting a price on travelling downtown will actually make things move along better. You be the judge.

“Toronto is paying the price of gridlock. Commuters waste time in traffic and businesses lose billions in productivity. Congestion pricing will get Toronto moving again,” states a report made public this week by the think group Build Toronto.
