AMHERST, NY — The University at Buffalo's longest-serving president is stepping down after nearly 15 years.

Under his watch, UB's research funding grew by more than $100 million and its campus footprint transformed, moving the medical school back to downtown Buffalo, opening new labs and facilities, and renovating spaces across campus.

Satish Tripathi is credited with guiding UB through a period of growth and providing steady leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic. His time at the university saw expanded research, enhanced educational opportunities, and broader engagement both locally and globally.
