NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - New Haven police have made an arrest in an early morning shooting from last month.
On Aug. 18, 2025, at around 7:30 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Shelton Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation.
When police arrived, they found a 31-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.
After an investigation, Detective Matthew Stevens of the Major Crimes Unit developed 28-year-old Jakar Brock-Williams of New Haven as a suspect.
Brock-Williams was arrested on on Sept. 23. He was charged with assault in the fist degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, and illegal discharge of a firearm.
His bond was set at $300,000.
