SCHENECTADY — Pretty sure Sunset Boulevard doesn’t have nearly as many potholes as Erie Boulevard does, but nevertheless, the M&T Bank Center was ready for her close-up on Friday night.

Headed west on Nott Street, I had to remind myself not to turn left on Lenox Road and look for an on-street parking spot next to somebody’s lawn on my way into the old Union College hockey mansion, Messa Rink.
