The New York Yankees don't waste any time.

Giancarlo Stanton is the latest example. On Friday night, Stanton crushed a first-inning home run for a quick lead, and in the process, made MLB history.

The Yankees have now hit 48 home runs in the first inning of games this season. That's more than any team, ever, according to NY Yankees Stats .

That's been led by Aaron Judge, who has set the record for most first-inning homers by an individual.

It's a pretty cool stat, to be sure.

The Yankees have 267 home runs as a team this season after the Stanton blast.

Hitting 48 of those in the first inning is approximately 18%. If they hit homers in each inning evenly, it'd be more like 11%.
