SALT LAKE CITY – A Utah man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after the United States Attorney’s Office said he pretended to be a minor on social media to extort sexually explicit photos from a 14-year-old victim.
Taylorsville resident Carlos Arturo Aparicio Hernandez, also known as Raiza Daniela Yasira Aparicio Hernandez, 40, was sentenced to 360 months – 30 years – of imprisonment, according to a release from the United States Attorney’s Office District of Utah.
U.S. District Court Judge David Barlow sentenced Hernandez to a lifetime term of supervised release in addition to his imprisonment term.
