SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Central High School junior Ethan Boyd is carrying on a family tradition on the football field.
The 16-year-old offensive guard stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 300 pounds. This season, he's suiting up for the varsity Bobcats, following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Michael Keesey Boyd.
Dr. Boyd played safety for Central in the 1990s and in 1995 earned the title of Mr. Bobcat, an honor voted on by teammates and awarded to the player who best exemplifies sportsmanship, teamwork, conscientiousness, and overall ability. Now a general surgeon in San Angelo, he says watching his son play for the same program is a special experience for their family.
