SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department says they have arrested a veteran firefighter with the San Antonio Fire Department after he allegedly hit a 15-year-old girl during an argument.

Around 11 a.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Leopard Hunt after receiving reports of an altercation.

Upon arrival, the suspect and victim spoke with investigators separately to get both sides of the story.

Officers came to find out the suspect was 15-year veteran with SAFD Geoffrey Stebbings.

The victim was identified as a 15-year-old girl.

Further investigation led officers to believe the two got into a verbal altercation in a vehicle when Stebbings allegedly "struck the [girl] with an open hand on her arm."
