WHITEHOUSE, Texas (KETK) - The Whitehouse City Council has called for a November special election to amend several parts of the city's charter.
Earlier in 2025, a City Charter Review Commission, appointed by Whitehouse City Council, recommended several amendments to clean up the city charter by clarifying existing language, aligning the charter with state law and providing flexibility for future city councils.
“These propositions are about updating and clarifying our charter so that it serves the city well into the future,” Whitehouse Mayor James Wansley said. “The commission worked hard to review each provision carefully and we are grateful for their commitment to ensuring our charter is clear, consistent and practical."
