SHOW LOW, Ariz. — Hundreds of people gathered Friday to pay their final respects to firefighter Brenna Kulikowski, who was killed Sept. 14 in a head-on crash on Highway 260 after transporting a patient to Phoenix.

Despite cold and rainy weather, community members lined the streets for a procession honoring the 31-year-old firefighter-paramedic. Fire departments from across Arizona joined the escort, which ended at Show Low High School’s auditorium, where a memorial service was held.

“It’s beautiful. We pray for rain every day, so I’m grateful for the rain and the first responders,” Michelle Peterson said before the procession rolled by.
