Imani Christian coach LaRoi Johnson already knew about the resilience of his group.

So when the Saints (6-0, 3-0) stormed back from an early 16-point deficit to earn a 36-16 win over North Catholic (5-1, 2-1) on Friday night at home, he wasn't surprised one bit.

“I’ve known about this group for a long time. They’re special,” Johnson said. “They play extremely hard. They lean on each other. It’s a brotherhood, and we absolutely play for each other. We practice hard. We play hard. We’re hard on each other — and that's because we want to win so bad.”

The Saints entered the contest averaging 46.4 points per game, and its defense had only allowed double-digit points once all season. Still, its matchup with North Catholic was Johnson’s team’s biggest test to date.
