Mount Leinster Rangers is better known as a small-ball club these days, having won six of the last nine Carlow senior hurling championships, but it wasn’t always this way.
The Borris-based outfit is made up of three clubs – Ballymurphy, Rathanna and Borris – that joined together for the first time in late 1987 to form Mount Leinster Rangers. Borris were Carlow senior football champions in 1911 while Ballymurphy were football kings in ’47 and ’53.
