BEREA — The Browns are once again using the standard gameday elevations to bolster their defensive backfield.

Cornerback Dom Jones was elevated from the practice squad for the second consecutive game. The Browns also elevated cornerback Tre Avery for the first time this season in advance of the game at the Detroit Lions .

Cleveland's cornerback depth was exposed during its Week 2 loss at the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens specifically targeted cornerback Cameron Mitchell, who came in when Denzel Ward left with cramping issues. Buy Cleveland Browns tickets

Mitchell allowed three catches on four passes thrown to receivers he was in coverage against. All three of those completions went for Baltimore touchdowns.
