Bhubaneswar : A depression over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal is expected to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area during the next 24 hours, informed the India Meteorological Department.

According to the latest IMD update, the system crossed the south Odisha coast near Gopalpur around 4:30 am today and is currently centered over south coastal Odisha.

The depression is currently centered near latitude 19.3°N and longitude 84.8°E. In terms of geographical location, it is situated about 10 km west-northwest of Gopalpur. Additionally, it is approximately 120 km west-southwest of Puri, about 40 km south-southeast of Phulbani and 180 km east-southeast of Bhawanipatna.
