SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Wag Hotels has agreed to pay $150,000 to settle a consumer protection lawsuit involving safety and hygiene concerns at its facilities in three Bay Area counties.
The lawsuit, filed by the district attorneys of San Francisco, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties, followed a report by the San Francisco Chronicle highlighting issues such as neglect, hygiene, pest control, and failure to report dog bites at Wag Hotels locations.
"We want to make sure this is a clear example of what the standards are legally and make sure that we are protecting our pets by enforcing the laws," said San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
District Attorney Jenkins emphasized the importance of cleanliness in pet facilities, noting the potential for bacteria to cause diseases and
