USC football will have a real prove-it game against No. 23 Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The No. 22-ranked Trojans (4-0, 2-0 Big Ten play) take on the Fighting Illini (3-1, 0-1) from Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois, in an important Big Ten matchup. The Trojans are coming off a 45-31 win over Michigan State, while Illinois lost 63-10 to Indiana.
A win for the Trojans could continue the upward trajectory for a program still looking for its first College Football Playoff berth under coach Lincoln Riley. Conversely, a win for Bret Bielema and Illinois would mark a huge turnaround after the thrashing the Illini received at the hands of Indiana in Week 4.
