BEREA, Ohio — Berea-Midpark stood toe-to-toe with Avon for two and a half quarters on Friday night, but the Eagles’ offense was just too much for the Titans to handle as a depleted Avon squad came away with a 55-27 win in hostile territory.

Down both starting running backs and numerous starters on defense, Avon (5-1) rose to its next-man-up mantra and called upon junior running back Michael Colburn in the absence of both starters. Colburn didn’t let his team down with a strong three-touchdown performance that was the difference against the Titans (4-2).
