New Delhi: In a significant leadership shuffle ahead of their planned demerger, Tata Motors have announced appointments in key roles, including Shailesh Chandra as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, who will assume his new role from October 1st, 2025. This move comes as the auto giant prepares to formally split its commercial and passenger vehicle businesses into separate entities.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, Chandra’s appointment will see a term of three years, ending on September 30, 2028. At present serving as the head of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, Chandra will continue with that responsibility while assuming his new role. He will also join the Tata Motors Board as an Additional Director and be designated as a Key Managerial Personnel.
