HELENA — There are moments in life that you will never forget.
For Riley Schulte, the 58-yard touchdown pass from CJ Danforth to win the 2025 crosstown football game for Helena High, 27-24, will be one of those.
Trailing Capital, its crosstown rival, 24-19, with just over a minute left on the clock, Danforth, who was the Bengals' backup QB a week ago, dipped and danced his way away from the pass rush before completing a pass to Schulte, who took it 58 yards to the end zone to give Helena a 25-24 lead with 1:03 left on the clock.
After a two-point conversion from Peyton Lorenz, Helena's defense, which pitched a second-half shutout, recovered a fumble on the ensuing drive to seal the win, the first for Helena over Capital since 2021.
"I wanted this so bad," Schulte said.
