A Birmingham boozer 'at the heart of the community' called for a cut in taxes ahead of the Autumn Budget.

Located in Moseley , The Patrick Kavanagh supported Long Live the Local, a campaign formed in 2018 to highlight the rise in pub closures.

Over 230,000 people have signed the petition which calls for a reform in business rates, a beer tax cut and reduced VAT on food & drink.

On social media, The Patrick Kavanagh posted: "Here in our pub, we see it every day — friends reunited, families celebrating, neighbours supporting each other.

"We're proud to be at the heart of this community, but rising taxes put all that at risk.
