BSF Says Militants Waiting at LoC Launch Pads, Forces on High Alert

SRINAGAR : Militants are stationed at launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) waiting to infiltrate into the Kashmir Valley, but security forces are fully alert to thwart any such attempts, a senior Border Security Force (BSF) officer said on Saturday, as per The Indian Express. Inspector General (IG) BSF Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav, told reporters in Srinagar that infiltration bids typically rise before the onset of winter, when snowfall makes cross-border movement difficult. “There are always attempts to infiltrate before snowfall… chances remain till November, but because of the alertness of the forces, it is very difficult to infiltrate,” he said.
