MEDINA — As part of the Erie Canal’s 200th anniversary, folks got to board the Seneca Chief and look around when the vessel stopped Thursday at the Canal Basin

Mayor Marguerite Sherman and Deputy Mayor Jess Marciano said the village was proud to host the Seneca Chief as Medina continues to celebrate the bicentennial of the Erie Canal. She noted the canal was ready for navigation on Oct. 26, 1825.
