Prep roundup: Kalkaska starts season 5-0; Petoskey, Gaylord post BNC wins; St. Mary, Inland Lakes move to 5

KALKASKA — Kalkaska won 56-0 and started the season 5-0 for the only the third time in football program history.

The Blazers knocked off Johannesburg-Lewiston in a nonconference game to start the season with five consecutive wins for the first time since 2016. Kalkaska posted a second shutout in the same season for the first time since 2017.
