The National Hurricane Center has issued tropical storm watches for the east coast of Florida as Tropical Depression 9 gains strength.
Rainfall from TD9 will continue to impact eastern Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica and the Bahamas throughout the weekend and could cause flooding and mudslides.

As of 11 a.m. on Saturday, TD9 is moving toward the northwest at about 6 mph and has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. It is expected to strengthen over the next few days and could become a tropical storm before Sunday.
