New Delhi: Apple is planning a significant update to its voice assistant Siri, which is backed by an internal iPhone application called Veritas. The app, according to Bloomberg, is a ChatGPT-like tool and is meant to enhance the ways in which Apple tries new AI-based features. The new version of Siri will see the light of day as soon as March the following year, and this follows a series of delays due to technical hitches.

The relocation indicates the increased urgency of Apple to build its AI products when competitors such as Google, Samsung and OpenAI increase their capabilities. Although it announced the iPhone 17 earlier this month, Apple did not present its in-house AI development, which points to the possibility that its game-changer would be the reintroduction of Siri.
