When Penn State football debuted its White Out in 2004, the Nittany Lions likely didn't know what it would turn out to be — or if it would even be successful.
It has not only turned out to be a success, particularly for the Nittany Lions on the field, but has also grown into one of the great scenes of college football.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, the No. 2-ranked Nittany Lions will host the 21st annual White Out game at Beaver Stadium when No. 5 Oregon comes to Happy Valley for the first time since the Ducks joined the Big Ten.
As noted by Penn State's game notes, Saturday's matchup is just the second time in the history of the White Out that both teams ranked in the top 10, with the lone other game being Penn State's home game in 2008 against Ohio State.
