Sunil Gavaskar has said that India has nothing to panic even if Abhishek Sharma has a rare failure during the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan on Sunday, September 28. Abhishek has been in scintillating form during the ongoing tournament, scoring three consecutive fifties during the Super 4s and topping the batting charts.

Abhishek has scored 309 runs in six matches with an average of 51.50 and a strike-rate of 204.63. During the course of the tournament, the Indian innings has often slowed down after Abhishek's dismissal, with the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson and others struggling to find their rhythm in Dubai. Shoaib Akhtar said that India could be in trouble if Abhishek is dismissed early on in the innings.
