LOS ANGELES – A 35-year-old motorcyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash in Harbor City was identified Friday by authorities.

The rider was heading east on Pacific Coast Highway near Western Avenue around 12:55 p.m. Thursday when a silver van headed west made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The rider lost control and was then struck by an older-model pickup truck that was traveling west on PCH.

Neither driver stopped, police said.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The county Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim Friday as Sergio Maya.
