The regrouping on the north shore of Conception Bay following the wildfires is getting off the ground with a community meeting this week to begin the task of fully assessing the damage and looking at how to rebuild.
The fires in May and August laid waste to some 200 structures and wiped out some key pieces of the community.
Betty Mullaley-Moulton, whose family roots are in the region and who has been involved in disaster emergency management for 15 years, was invited to Wednesday night’s meeting to answer questions and talk about the challenges ahead.
She says many people are still displaced and living with relatives or in other accommodations.
