CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - One person is dead and two others are hurt after a shooting outside a lounge in southeast Charlotte early Saturday morning.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, it happened on East Independence Boulevard near Monroe Road around 4 a.m.

Police said three people were shot. One died at the hospital.

According to police, it started as an altercation outside of the Safari Lux Lounge. Investigators are still looking into how the shooting happened.
