CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A suspect is in custody after a shooting Saturday morning in uptown Charlotte.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to East Trade Street near North Caldwell Street around 7:40 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a person with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They were treated on the scene for their injuries.

Police took a suspect into custody nearby and a gun was recovered.

The investigation is ongoing.
