A popular Southside spot is to host a pickle and hot sauce celebration this weekend asking fans if they can handle the heat.

Phillies of Shawlands is hosting its first-ever Burn & Brine festival on Sunday (September 28) which will be filled with traders with all things spiced and pickled.

The popular bar revealed there will be a Hot Ones inspired hot sauce competition kicking off at 3pm, with fans able to also enjoy "hot vinyl tracks and "burn and briney drink specials".

The team behind the bar on Kilmarnock Road post on social media: "You think you’ve got what it takes to beat the heat??!!

"This Sunday from 1pm we launch our first ever Burn & Brine festival. We have lots of traders with all things spiced and pickled."
