A much-loved Glasgow street food spot has closed its shutter for the last time - gutting city food fans who flocked there on weekends.

Monster Munchies has been drawing a queue at the Barras Market for the last few years, serving up epic and apparently hangover-killing bao buns, loaded fries and specials all with a Scottish twist.

The Irn Bru chilli chicken fast became a hit for those wandering the market on weekends - but alas, the man behind it all, Colin Jenkinson, is moving on to pastures new.

Posting on Instagram, the Monster Munchies team said: “Time to say goodbye! Thank you to absolutely every single person that has made this wee cupboard a special place. The highs, the lows, everything.

“It’s been a blast, catch ye.

“Better to burn out than to fade away.”
