It was supposed to be the game in which Lake Brantley was going to show it was ready to shake things up in Class 7A, District 3. Seminole had different plans Friday night.

The Seminoles (3-3) rolled past previously unbeaten Brantley 43-21, led by J’len Chaplin, who was playing quarterback for the first time. Chaplin ran for 155 yards and 4 touchdowns, and threw for 198 yards and another TD.

In other big district openers, Jones rolled past Auburndale 37-3, Evans routed Lake Howell 47-7 and St. Cloud knocked off Lake Nona 25-17.
