Popular talk show host reveals she spent time in jail after not paying bills, taxes

Sherri Shepherd recently revealed that she spent some time behind bars after believing the rapture was coming.

On Wednesday’s episode of her talk show “Sherri,” Shepherd explained how her religious upbringing emphasized the prophetic end-of-the-world event, in which Jesus returns to Earth to gather all Christians to Heaven.

Believing the rapture was near, Shepherd reasoned that she no longer had to keep up with her bills and taxes.

“I used to be in a religion that told me that the rapture was coming. They told us to get our house in order and I said ‘Why?’ I’m not going to need a house.
