FUMING Rory McIlroy told a heckling US fan to "shut the f*** up" as the Ryder Cup exploded into life.

The Irish sensation was lining up to hit his second shot on the 16th hole at Bethpage Black, New York.

He was playing alongside Tommy Fleetwood in the morning foursomes on Saturday.

As he went to hit the ball on his back swing, a fan shouted from the crowd.

It was a clear attempt to put the 36-year-old off at a vital moment of the match.

An angered McIlroy turned around and launched the X-rated blast back at him.

However, it far from hindered the world number two.

The Irishman then hit a sizzling shot onto the green, mere feet from the hole.

Fleetwood then sunk the putt to win the tie for Europe an give them another point.

They beat the pair of Harry English and Colin Morikawa
