CHICAGO — The annual AIDS Walk and Run kicked off at Soldier Field on Saturday morning.
Around 2,000 people are expected to take part in the annual event, which raises awareness and funds to support those living with and vulnerable to HIV.
Funds raised as part of the event will benefit AIDS Foundation Chicago and its community partner organizations, though individuals who joined as members of a CommunityDirect team raised funds for their respective organizations.
For decades, WGN's own Dean Richards has hosted the opening ceremonies and things were no different on Saturday morning.
We caught up with Dean ahead of the race as he spoke with John Peller, the President and CEO of AIDS Foundation Chicago.
