SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Hundreds of airmen and the family of Airman 1st Class Elizabeth Jacobson were in attendance early Friday morning for the annual Jacobson Memorial Ruck, held to honor A1C Elizabeth Jacobson, the first Security Forces airman and the first female U.S. service member killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. Airmen from Goodfellow Air Force Base took part in the ruck march, which marked the 20th anniversary of her passing.
Colonel Matthew A. Norton, 17th Training Wing commander, spoke at the ruck march and said Jacobson embodies the core values of the United States Air Force: integrity, first service before self, and excellence in all that they do.
